Mike Schmitt, owner of a Seattle based VW and Porsche service garage called, Wagenschmitt is a past neighbor of mine. Mike has rebuilt over 3,000 Volkswagen engines during his time as a mechanic. I shot these images and portraits of Mike on-location after Mike had finished rebuilding and installing an engine into a 1960's VW Beetle.
